Iron Age Britain, Catuvellauni, Cunobelin (AD 9-40), AV Stater, 'Wild A' Series, Camulodunum (Colchester), corn ear without central stalk, CA to left, MV to right, rev. horse right, dashes for mane branch above and CVNO below, 5.445g [84.03grns], 4h (VA 1931; BMC 1786; Mack 211; S.285; ABC 2777), obverse struck slightly off-centre omitting the letter 'C' and showing minor surface pitting, otherwise a remarkably strong and deeply impressed "fresh strike" specimen with choice high-relief details surviving on both the grain stalk and horse’s torso, retaining a lovely bright yellow-gold lustre in the fields, good very fine
