1801 (6 Nov.) entire printed letter headed "On His Majesty's Service.", footed "Navy Pay-Office.", addressed to "Mrs Margaret Luly at the Sign of the Royal Sovereign, Guernsey, struck with 'apple' type "free" dated 06.11.01; contents explain that Mr. James Luly had requested that no money be paid to Mrs. Luly, signed "J. Bedingfield, Inspector", Luly could challenge this by returning the letter by free mail. Fine and scarce.
