Hiberno-Norse (c. 1065-1100), Phase V, Penny, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, stylised legend, bust left, annulet and central pellet to neck, crozier before face, rev. stylised legend, voided long cross, crude hand and pellet to first quarter, pellet in second and fourth, pellet-in-annulet in third, 0.99g, 5h (Roth 155; SCBI 32 [Ulster Museum], 323; SCBI 22 [Copenhagen], 256; SCBI 8 [British Museum] -; S.6139 variety [4139]), chipped between 9 and 10 o'clock, otherwise with a rich dark cabinet tone, handsomely bold and uniform for strike, good very fine, extremely rare
