1895 "Mulitas"
1895 1c. "Mulitas", imperforate sample specimen stamps on black on card, including one single and one pair. Both items displaying the "PRUEBA" banner diagonally at top right, with the pair having the elaborate fancy decorations in the sheet margin. Scott 242v. Note: These were samples produced by the British printer Bradbury and Wilkinson, with the purpose of showing the quality of their work to the Mexican postal authorities. They copied the existing design and printed very few. Only a couple of complete sheets are known. This firm was hired to produce the following stamp set in 1899. A stamp from the issue is included for comparison.
