1895 "Mulitas"
1895, 1c. "Mulitas," group of four sample specimen stamps: one imperforate in blue and three perforated in shades of red, all with diagonal "PRUEBA" banner at top right, each stamp additionally with "Specimen" perfin. These were samples produced by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. to demonstrate the quality of their work to the Mexican postal authorities. They copied the existing design and printed a small number; the firm was subsequently commissioned to produce the 1899 issue. Scott 242v.
