A "Ferrary" 12 Cents Pale Blue
12c. black on pale blue, Townsend Type A (Robson Lowe Type B), initialled "E.D.W.", cut square with circular frameline almost intact, just slightly cut into at the top, with at least more than half of the few surviving examples displaying less attractive margins, cancelled by Demerara double-arc d.s. for July 25 1851. Some thinning and staining, neither of which affects the very fine appearance and premium quality with these margins.
