12c. black on indigo, Townsend Type B (Robson Lowe Type C), initialled "H.A.K.", cut to an octagonal shape, trimmed into design at places, cancelled by Demerara double-arc d.s. for Oct. 28 1851. A central left hole and minor thinning, still of fine appearance. The rarest shade of the 12 cents, of which only eleven examples are recorded according to Townsend, with this being further enhanced by the rarer initials. S.G. 6II, £14,000. Photo
