(g) NGC PF64+ UCAM | William IV (1830-1837), Pattern Proof Sovereign, 1830, by William Wyon and Jean-Baptiste Merlen, second bare head right, nose to second I in BRITANNIAR, rev. coin alignment, crowned shield in mantle, ANNO - 1830 below, edge plain, 7.833g, 6h (Montagu 1083; Murdoch 440; Nobleman 203; Douglas-Morris 178; King -; Stratos -; Marsh 15C; W&R 260 [R5]; S.3829B), struck through scarcely perceptible lint artefacts in otherwise magnificently brilliant original fields, practically FDC, an extraordinary survivor; a covetable gem; and a supreme rarity, once erroneously included by Messrs Seaby in the remarkable 1831 Proof "Set" offered in surrounding lots, in NGC Black 'Pallas' holder, graded PROOF 64+ ULTRA CAMEO (Cert. #8534312-002)
