William Charles Marchant was born at St. Lukes, London and enlisted at Finsbury Barracks, entering the War at some stage after 1916. He went into attack with the rest of the Battalion during the attack on High Wood on 15 September 1916, where he was killed in action. Marchant is buried at London Cemetery and Extension, Longueval.
