Henry Benjamin Sundstrom was born on 16 January 1922. He was posted to the 2nd Mounted Regiment at Ladysmith on 11 September 1940, serving with them until February 1941 when he transferred to the 2nd Armoured Cars, with he saw service until December 1942. Sundstrom served in the Seaward Defence from 22 January 1942 to December 1942.
He disembarked at Suez on 31 December 1942 and mutinied on 11 May 1943 whilst serving in the Middle East. He was given a 1 year detention on 17 May 1943 as a result, however, he was released from his detention on 15 August 1943. Sundstrom embarked for Italy on 15 April 1944 and was wounded on 22 October 1944 at Mount Stanco, and was later emplaned for South Africa on 17 April 1945. Sundstrom was discharged on 14 March 1946 and his medals were sent to him on 9 June 1952; sold with copied service papers.
