Albert Henry Pratley was born at Finstock, Oxfordshire and enlisted at Witney, with the Royal Garrison Artillery. Posted to the 115th Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery he entered the war in France on 2 October 1914. Serving there until the Somme Offensive when he was mortally wounded, dying on 6 June 1916. He is buried at Carnoy Military Cemetery.
