Daniel Gearan was born at Isleworth and enlisted at Hounslow. He enters the war in France on 22 August 1914 while serving with the 4th Battalion Middlesex Regiment. He transfers to the East Surrey Regiment with number 11834 serving with the 8th Battalion but was killed in action on 3 May 1917 and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial; sold together with card case and envelope for the Memorial Plaque, addressed to Master D. Gearan, 14 Byfield Road, Isleworth, Middlesex and a postage envelope and slip for the British War and Victory Medal pair, typed out to 'No. L/11834 Sgt. Daniel Gearan, East Surrey Regiment'.
