Crook Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Cairo Jany 1904', the first two mounted recently court style for wear, edge bruise, light contact wear overall very fine (3)

Albert Crook was born at Hounslow in 1877 and enlisted there on 18 July 1895, listing prior experience with the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Middlesex Regiment. Posted to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers he saw home service for several years before being transferred to the 2nd Battalion in India on 21 December 1897 where he saw action on the Punjab Frontier.

Ordered to join the British Army in South Africa in 1902 he arrived there on 24 January 1901. The medal roll notes that he: 'proceeded to Tvaal with Lt. G.V.R. Stuart (Officers Servant)'. Posted to Egypt after South Africa on 25 October 1903 Crook was appointed Lance Corporal in 1904 although he was to lose his stripes just three years later. Posted Home in 1907 he was discharged on 17 July 1907; sold together with copied medal rolls and service papers.
