Approximately 67 Medals were awarded to the crew of H.M.S. Cockatrice.

Richard Hammond was born at Portsea on 12 December 1852 and enlisted in the Royal Navy on 1 January 1873. Promoted Sick Berth Attendant with Cockatrice in 1882 he ended his career as Sick Berth Steward. Hammond was shore pensioned on 14 February 1888; sold together with a copied service record.
