(x) Bank Melli, Iran, 50 Rials, ND (1932), red serial number A097878,
this banknote was issued by Bank Melli, Iran in 1932. The front exhibits an olive-green colour with red, blue and green hues within the designs. On the front left is a portrait of Reza Shah, depicted wearing a Pahlavi hat. Next to this portrait is an image of the Chehel Sotoun (Forty Columns) Palace, reflecting in the pool in Isfahan. This palace, when reflecting the 20 columns onto the water, is said to appear as 40 columns. The back presents an olive-green design, whilst once again featuring Farsi text. The denomination of 50 Rials is shown on all four corners within the guilloches design and the coat of arms with the crown, sun, lion and sword is observed in the centre,
