Mexico District 2r. Emerald, a very fresh example with huge margins, clearly showing an August 1st, 1856 c.d.s., marking the first day of issue. The only recorded genuine first-day-of-issue usage, a key and highly significant item for the most advanced collections of Mexico. Sold for $10,000 in the March 2001 Regency auction (lot #1952).
