4c. black on blue "sugar paper" (paper coloured through), good margins, initialled "E.D.W." for postal clerk Wight, cancelled by "a 1 c" coded d.s. for 17 November 1856. Without doubt, this is the finest known example of this great classic rarity in British Empire and worldwide philately, confirmed by the fact that only about twelve examples are recorded -one of which is in the Royal Philatelic Collection.
