George II (1727-1760), 'Roses' Halfcrown, 1739 DVODECIMO, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses in angles, seven strings to harp, seven hearts, upwards lettered edge, 14.98g, 6h (ESC 600; Bull 1679; S.3693), overt adjustment marks on portrait, and once rubbed to visage, otherwise colourfully cabinet toned and residually lustrous, a bolder very fine
