William III, Solus (1694-1702), Norwich (3), Halfcrown, 1696 N OCTAVO, laureate and draped bust right, small N below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, five strings to early harp, nine billets, upwards lettered edge, 15.05g, 6h (ESC 538; Bull 1083; S.3479), adjustment marks and other light scratches, otherwise residually lustrous and cabinet toned, very fine; also, Shilling, 1697 N, first laureate and draped bust right, N below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, small 7 in date, five strings to harp, eight billets, edge obliquely milled, 5.95g, 6h (ESC 1099; Bull 1187; S.3501), light flecking, otherwise lustrous and beautifully cabinet toned, a most pleasing extremely fine, rare in this grade; lastly, Sixpence, 1696 N, first laureate and draped bust right, N below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, three strings to early harp, large crowns, six billets, edge obliquely milled, 2.91g, 6h (ESC 1538; Bull 1288; S.3524), on a slightly concave flan, otherwise darkly cabinet toned and lustrous, struck details very fine or marginally better (3)
