William III, Solus (1694-1702), York Halfcrown, 1697 y NONO, laureate and draped bust right, y below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to late harp, seven billets, upwards lettered edge, 15.36g, 5h (ESC 551; Bull 1100; S.3492), lightly flecked and die wear to hair, otherwise colourfully, albeit softly cabinet toned and further accentuated by residual brilliance in recesses, a pleasing extremely fine, a striking coin with an exemplary pedigree
