William III, Solus (1694-1702), Chester Sixpences (2), 1696 C, first laureate and draped bust right, C below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, three strings to early harp, large crowns, nine billets, edge obliquely milled, 2.93g, 6h (ESC 1536; Bull 1268; S.3522), adjustment marks on reverse, otherwise darkly cabinet toned, good fine, the reverse better; another, 1697 C, similar, no stops after MAG, FRA, and HIB, six strings to late harp, small crowns, nine billets, edge obliquely milled, 3.06g, 6h (ESC 1557, stops not mentioned; Bull 1273; S.3533), adjustment marks on portrait, otherwise lustrous, a pleasing extremely fine and much as struck (2)
