William III, Solus (1694-1702), Chester Shillings (2), 1696 C, first draped and laureate bust right, C below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, five strings to harp, nine billets, edge obliquely milled, 6.06g, 6h (ESC 1082; Bull 1165; S.3499), lightly toned, a pleasing very fine; another, 1697 C, similar, eight (?) billets, obliquely milled edge, 5.81g, 6h (ESC 1096; Bull 1168 and 1172, four strings not noted; S.3499), weak on the lower folds of drapery and corresponding area on reverse, metal flaw and scratch on reverse, rubbed but colourfully toned, fine (2)
