CAROLVS • D : G : MAG • BRIT • FRAN • ET • HIB • REX • lozenge stops, sixth crowned and armoured "Briot" bust left, wearing stellate lace collar, XII behind flanked by lozenges, rev. • CHRISTO • AVSPICE • REGNO • (m.m.) • crowned oval-garnished shield, with Maid of Erin harp with six strings, 5.831g, 12h, m.m. lion passant guardant (Brooker 1094 same dies; North 2319; S.2873), attractively lustrous with mottled and colourful cabinet iridescence, a most pleasing extremely fine and rare survivor of the 'machine currency' of the fateful Carolean age
