IVST THRONVM FIRMAT (m.m.), crowned rose, 0.883g, 12h, m.m. cross calvary (Brooker 659; North 2248; S.2822), some partial softness, otherwise toned, almost very fine; also, Group C, 23 June 1630 - 30 June 1631, (m.m.) CARO .' D .' G .' MA .' BR .' FR .' ET • HI .' REX • third crowned and armoured bust left, wearing ruff, II behind, rev. (m.m.) IVSTITIA • THRONVM • FIRMAT, oval garnished shield, 0.922g, 1h, m.m. plume (Brooker -; North 2252; S.2826), lightly creased, otherwise delightfully cabinet toned on a neat round flan, overtly double-struck on reverse but lustrous and colourfully hued, a really bold very fine, rare in this presentable state; others, Group III (3), Types 3.5-3.6, 11 July 1633 - 27 June 1634, (m.m.) CAROLVS D G M B F ET HI REX, fourth crowned and armoured bust left, wearing falling lace collar, II behind, rev. legend as last, albeit stops by m.m. only, oval garnished shield, 0.867g, 6h, m.m. portcullis (Brooker -, cf. 672; North - cf. 2257; S - cf. 2830), pierced, otherwise uniformly cabinet toned with attractive fiery-orange colours to reverse, a bolder fine / very fine, evidently extremely rare as unrepresented in the Brooker Sylloge for this pyx-mark and classification; and further unlisted in the standard references; another, Type 3a1, 27 June 1634 - 18 June 1635, (m.m.) • CAROLVS • D .' G .' MA .' B .' F .' ET • H .' REX • fourth crowned and armoured bust left, wearing falling lace collar, II behind, no inner circle, rev. legend as last but stops after each word, oval garnished rounder shield, no inner circle, 0.988g, 2h, m.m. bell (Brooker 673-674; North 2257; S.2831), uniformly cabinet toned on a pretty round flan, some striking softness, otherwise a pleasing very fine, scarce; lastly, (under Parliament) (2), Type 3a3, 29 May 1643 - 15 July 1644, as before, with inner circles, 0.961g, 12h, m.m. (P) (Brooker 684; North 2258; S.2833), uniformly cabinet toned and lustrous, about very fine; and, Group G, Type 3a7, 10 November 1645 - 15 February 1646, seventh bust, 0.855g, 1h, m.m. sun (Brooker 690-691; North 2260; S.2836), slightly uneven as usual for this rare series, otherwise sumptuously cabinet toned, a pleasing very fine, rare (6)
