CAROLVS D : G: MAG : BR : FR : ET • HI REX, first crowned 'Coronation' bust left, with double arched crown, outer only jewelled, XII behind, rev. (m.m.) CHRI | STO AV | SPICE | REGNO, square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, bird-headed harp, 5.910g, 2h, m.m. lys (Hawkins 511; Brooker 385-389; Sharp A2/1; North 2216; S.2782), softly struck to central devices, otherwise cabinet toned and full, strictly fine; also, Group A, Type 1, Sixpence, 1625, Tower (under King), similar, both arches jewelled, VI behind, rev. 1625 above shield, 2.825g, 4h, m.m. lys (Brooker 571-574; North 2235; S.2805), rubbed but on a fuller flan, with colourful highlights, fair to almost fine (2)
