Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Sixth Issue, Halfgroat, 1 May 1600 - 20 May 1601, Tower, (m.m.) E .' D .' G .' ROSA .' SINE .' SPINA .' beaded inner circle only, crowned and draped bust 6F left, two pellets behind head, rev. (m.m.) CIVITAS LONDON, beaded inner circle only, square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 0.710g, 8h, m.m. O (BCW O-1/O-a; North 2016; S.2559), clipped and rubbed, otherwise uniformly cabinet toned, a bolder fine, scarce; additionally, Seventh Issue, Halfgroats, Tower (2), 29 July 1601 - 14 May 1602, as last, 0.980g, 8h, m.m. 1 (BCW 1-2/1-a; North 2016; S.2586), struck broad on a larger flan, cabinet toned with underlying residual lustre, a bolder fine, scarce; lastly, 15 May 1602 - 24 March 1603, as last, 0.907g, 5h, m.m. 2 (BCW 2-1/2-a; North 2016; S.2586), areas of striking weakness, otherwise darker cabinet tone and hints of lustre to reverse, a bolder fine, scarce and the last date of her Glorious reign (3)
