Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Sixth Issue, Shilling, 1 February 1590 - 31 January 1592, Tower, (m.m.) ELIZAB .' D .' G .' ANG .' FR .' ET : HIB .' REGI .' crowned bust 6B left, rev. (m.m.) POSVI DEV .' ADIVTOREM • MEV .' square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 5.961g [91.992grns], 6h, m.m. hand (BCW HA-1/HA-b; North 2014; S.2577), some peripheral striking softness, otherwise richly toned, a pleasing very fine, the pyx-mark so extraordinarily crisp that one can identify the knuckles of the inner hand!
