Edward IV, First Reign (1461-1470), Light Coinage, Groat, 1464-1465, London, crowned bust facing, quatrefoils at neck, trefoil on cusp of breast, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, additional pellet in second quarter, 3.066g, 10h, m.m. rose (North 1567; S.2000), some peripheral striking softness and rust spots to reverse, otherwise delightfully bold and uniform for strike, further accentuated by fiery-golden tone, a pleasing and bolder very fine / nearing extremely fine, scarce in this impressive state!
