Henry VI, First Reign (1422-1461), 'Annulet' Issue, Halfgroat, 1422-1427, London, crowned bust facing, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, additional annulet in second and third quarters, 1.850g, 10h, i.m. incurved pierced cross [on obverse only] (North 1428; S.1839), cabinet toned, a really good fine; another, 'Annulet' Issue, Penny, 1422-1427, London, similar, 0.806g, 2h, i.m. pierced cross [on obverse only] (North 1431; S.1844), scored across bust and rather flat, otherwise poor / fine; another, 'Pinecone-Mascle' Issue, Halfpenny, 1431/2-1433, London, similar but with pinecone and mascle stops in obverse legend, 0.499g, 11h (North 1468; S.1878), cabinet toned and on a fuller flan, a bolder fine; also, 'Leaf-Pellet' Issue, Halfpenny, 1445-1454, London, pellets by crown, 0.463g [7.145grns], 10h (North 1512; S.1928), clashed dies, otherwise cabinet toned, scarcely fine; others, Pennies, York, Local Dies, Archbishop Kemp, mullets by crown, rev. CIVITAS EBORACI, quatrefoil at centre, 0.948g, 4h, m.m. cross patonce (Hawkins 340; North 1451(iii); S.1868), toned, a bolder fine; another, 'Cross-Pellet' Issue, c. 1454-1461, Archbishop William Booth, similar but with saltires at neck, pellets by crown, 0.914g, 2h (cf. Whitton 17a; North 1521; S.1940), clipped short and with peripheral striking softness otherwise colourfully cabinet toned, a bolder fine (6)
