Henry VI, First Reign (1422-1461), 'Cross-Pellet' Issue, Groat, 1454-1461, London, crowned bust facing, saltire on throat, pellets beside crown, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, long cross and trio of pellets in angles, additional pellet in first and fourth quarter, 3.916g [60.433grns], 4h, i.m. cross patonce [on obverse only] (North 1517; S.1935), softly struck to centre, otherwise a pleasingly full flan with most attractive and vibrant cabinet toning in recesses, nearing very fine, an appealing type coin contemporary with the opening skirmishes of the Wars of the Roses and First Battle of St Albans
