The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | Charles II (1660-1685), Shilling, 1675 over 3, CAROLVS • II • - DEI • GRATIA, third laureate and draped bust right, no stop before DEI, rev. no stop after HIB, E over R in ET, crowned shields cruciform, five [?] strings to harp, interlocking Cs in angles, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Pywell-Phillips -; Bull 531 [R3]; ESC 1043A [R3]; S.3380), rub to portrait, otherwise a darker cabinet tone with flashes of lustre in recesses of legends, almost very fine, the reverse better still, very rare
