The L'Abbaye Collection: Part Two | Charles II (1660-1685), "Welsh Plumes" Shilling, 1673, CAROLVS • II • - DEI • GRATIA, second laureate and draped bust right, plume below bust, rev. stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, interlocking Cs in angles, plume at centre, edge obliquely milled, 6h (Woodhouse 331; Pywell-Phillips -; ESC 1038 [R3]; Bull 525 [R3]; S.3376), rub on hair, otherwise a beautifully balanced and richly cabinet toned and residually lustrous example, almost very fine, the Plumes very fine on obverse / that on reverse fair, extremely rare
