(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1872 [Die 50] (2), second larger young head, W.W. in relief on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 6h, 7.96g; 6h, 7.96g (Marsh 56; Spink 3853B; MCE 533), both wiped and lightly contact marked, one with an edge bruise at 6 o'clock, the other with a die flaw above the 1 in date and to the second A in GRATIA, both residually lustrous, very fine, the reverses better (2)
