(g) Victoria (1837-1901), 'Shieldback' Sovereign, 1872 [Die 51] (2), second larger young head, W.W. in relief on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, edge milled, 6h, 7.97g; 6h, 7.94g (Marsh 56; Spink 3853B; MCE 533), the first lightly contact marked and with a red toning spot below the bust, nevertheless lustrous, pleasingly so to the reverse, bolder very fine, the reverse better, the other lightly contact marked and with a touch of rub, nevertheless residually lustrous, more so to the reverse, very fine (2)
