William Worboys served during the Great War on the Western Front and was wounded in action by a gunshot wound to the right thigh, this being treated at No. 10 General Hospital (Rouen), before being transferred to the Convalescence Depot at Rouen on 2 November 1917. He is photographed in The Cast Iron Sixth.
