Patrick Denson Roy was born in 1921 at Lethbridge, Alberta and was a stenographer upon the outbreak of the Second World War. Enlisting at Calgary in April 1942, he was commissioned in August 1943 and flew a tour of Operations with No. 415 Squadron. Having flown some 35 sorties at the time of earning his D.F.C., he completed just shy of 161 hours on Ops; sold together with his original Commissioning Document, this dated 20 August 1943.
