Three: Private W. Wilkinson, 22nd Independent Parachute Company (Pathfinders), who was wounded in action on 30 July 1944

1939-45 Star; France & Germany Star; War Medal 1939-45, with waved envelopes, in their addressed box of issue to 'Mr. W. Wilkinson, 34A Caslon Crescent, Stourbridge, Worcestershire' and Army Council enclosure, this confirming '3' awards and additionally inscribed '14348839' in pencil, good very fine (3)

W. Wilkinson suffered a fractured arm and shell wounds as a result of enemy shellfire at 0230hrs on 30 July 1944 and was evacuated to 195 A/L Field Ambulance, whilst serving with the 22nd Independent Parachute Company (Pathfinders). They had jumped into France on D-Day and concentrated around Le Bas Ranville and the fighting at Breville.
