Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (No. 1738 Band Sergt T. J. Coles 2nd. Bn. Suffolk Regiment), re-engraved in running script, very fine

Thomas Julius Coles was born at Forest Gate and was a musician by trade who joined the Army aged 15 years 6 months in May 1886. Having served in the band of the 2nd Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, he was discharged in May 1908 and lived at 155 Bathhurst Gardens, Kensal Rise, London. Coles had served in Egypt and India and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. as per Army Order 172 of 1906; sold together with copied research.
