John Brown was born at Coatbridge and enlisted at Kilmarnock. He entered the war in France from 11 May 1915 and died on 21 March 1918 serving with the 6th/7th Bn, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. He was the son of Mr and Mrs W. Brown of 32 East Road, Irvine and was the husband of Marion Brown of 3 Glasgow Vennel, Irvine, Ayrshire.
