Charles Thomas Jenkins was born at Southwark, London. He attested into the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders on 25 July 1891, and serves in the East Indies from 20 September 1893-14 February 1899. He returns to the U.K. before serving in South Africa between 17 October 1899-9 August 1902. He is discharged on 24 July 1903.
He was mobilised on 10 September 1914 and spends time in India between 21 February 1916-17 May 1919, before being finally released on 24 June 1919.
