John Henry Laundry was born at Liskeard on 18 July 1888 and joined the Royal Navy on 5 November 1906. During the Great War he served aboard Marlborough from 4 June 1914-25 May 1916 then serving at Vivid from 26 May-7 September 1916, with service at Dido from 8 September-27 December 1916, with further service on Vivid, Woolwich, Wallington and Leander.
