Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., (Geo Groves, Pte 45th Co R.M.L.I.), light contact marks, very fine

George Groves was born on 11 February 1864 at Langley, Derbyshire and was a collier upon joining the Royal Marines on 11 January 1886 at Derby. He spent most of his service at home but he served on Indus from 18 January-18 October 1888, then Himalaya from 12 March 1889-18 May 1890. He was invalided on 17 June 1890.
