Egerton Wilkins was born at Llanwonno, Glamorgan and enlisted at Porth. He died of wounds on 5 November 1918, aged 21, whilst serving with the 1st/4th Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry and was the son of William and Alice Wilkins, of 20, Britannia St., Porth, Rhondda; sold together with silk postcard of the Welsh Regiment from him wishing a Merry Christmas, an envelope addressed to him in France, New Year card addressed to his parents, 1918,On War Service Badge, numbered '31554'.
