George Edward Dobson went to France with the 12th London Regiment and thence served with the Royal Irish Rifles. He was killed in action on 16 August 1917 and is commemorated upon the Tyne Cot Memorial. Aged 31 years, he was the son of Joseph and Sarah Dobson, of 259, Shirland Rd., Maida Hill and the husband of Elizabeth Maria Dobson, of 50, Albert St., Regent's Park, London.

His MIC incorrectly records his middle name as 'Shaw'.
