James Palmer was born at Birmingham on 26 August 1886 and joined the Royal Flying Corps on 21 June, being posted to France on 19 July 1918. Palmer was demobilised on 15 October 1919; sold together with an original, addressed O.H.M.S. envelope.

Harry Thomas Palmer was enlisted with the Devonshire Regiment on 24 June 1916 and was mobilised on 1 March 1917. He had not served for long before he was transferred to 175 Company, Labour Corps on 14 May 1915. Palmer was demobilised on 5 November 1919; sold together with an original dog tag.
