Walter Rhymes was born in 1879 and was married in 1910 in Lewes, Sussex. Enlisting with the Royal Flying Corps on 11 September 1916 as Air Mechanic Class II, the Royal Air Force Muster role denotes his original trade as Cook however on the formation of the R.A.F. he -was re-classified as Private Class I, serving with 2 B Wing. Rhymes was discharged on 30 April 1920; sold together with a copied map of Seaford, East Sussex and several postcards of the town as well as an original R.F.C. cap badge.
