Sidney Edward was born and enlisted at Trowbridge. He served in France from 6 November 1915 with "B" Battery, 81st Brigade, Royal Field Artillery and died of wounds on 28 December 1915, aged 27. He is buried in the Le Touquet-Paris Plage Communal Cemetery and was the son of William and Amelia Edwards of Post Office Cottage, Wingfield, Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
