Charles Hamilton Sinclair Leicester was born on 1 November 1894, becoming an Assistant Clerk on 15 July 1912, then a Clerk on 15 July 1913. Further advanced Assistant Paymaster on 15 July 1915 and finally Paymaster Lieutenant on 15 July 1917. His service record includes time aboard Bellona and St Vincent in the Great War and it also notes his proficiency in languages to include Spanish and German. Leicester's final service was completed in June 1920.
