The Dr. Offer Collection of Jewish Coins | Judaea, Bar Kokhba Revolt, AR Zuz, Undated, attributed to Year 3 (AD134-135) 'Simon' (Paleo-Hebrew) Bunch of grapes with tendril, rev. 'For the freedom of Jerusalem', (Paleo-Hebrew) three-stringed cithara (lyre), 3.35g, (Hendin, 1435; TJC, 274a) spotting and porosity to a obverse but residual brightness, fine, reverse very fine; well-struck and detailed except at edges, overall a lovely example of a rare issue

The Dr. Offer Collection of Jewish Coins, assembled by Dr. Daniel Offer (1929-2013) in Chicago in the 1980s. Originally catalogued in 1982 using Meshorer, Y. 'Jewish Coins of the Second Temple Period' Am Hassefer and Massada, Tel Aviv, (1967). Appraised at Sotheby's, April-May, 1999.
