The Dr. Offer Collection of Jewish Coins | Judaea, Bar Kokhba Revolt, AR Zuz, Undated, attributed to Year 3 (AD134/135) 'Shimon' (Paleo-Hebrew) within wreath of thin branches wrapped around eight almonds, with a medallion between two pairs of dots at top and tendrils below, rev. 'For the Freedom of Jerusalem' (Paleo-Hebrew) fluted jug with handle on left, willow branch in right field, 3.27g, (Hendin, 1422; TJC 283a) slight die-wear to reverse but otherwise detailed and well-struck, brushed but attractive with a bright surface, good very fine

The Dr. Offer Collection of Jewish Coins, assembled by Dr. Daniel Offer (1929-2013) in Chicago in the 1980s. Originally catalogued in 1982 using Meshorer, Y. 'Jewish Coins of the Second Temple Period' Am Hassefer and Massada, Tel Aviv, (1967). Appraised at Sotheby's, April-May, 1999.
